If as a Carer you are working (or have worked) along side your caring role, we would like to know about your experiences.
The North East Lincolnshire Carers Strategy Group want to support local employers to become Carer friendly. To do this, they need to know what is working well and what you think the challenges are that Carers face at work.
1 in 9 workers combine working with caring for a family member, partner, friend or neighbour. Caring can have a negative impact on finances, social lives, physical and mental wellbeing and more besides.
A caring role can have an impact on work if the Carer needs to leave at short notice because of the condition of the cared for person. They may need more time off work to attend appointments. They may need their employer to be flexible with the hours they work.
Getting the right support from an employer and having an employer that understands the challenges Carers face can be the difference between staying in work or leaving work because of caring.
