You may know that the Walled Garden has had a bit of a tumultuous 6mths in our efforts to get retrospective planning permission for the café on site. The ongoing challenge lies with the parking issues that the village collectively faces. The carpark on Longfield drive has been recently enlarged and enhanced to alleviate this issue.
Our planning application will be going in front of Mendip Council Planning for a final decision towards the end of August. The application is requesting that we continue operating the cafe as we have been for the last 9 years. Opening to the public from 10am-5pm everyday from the beginning of April until the end of October with no more than 12 evening events per year.
