Pontypridd YMCA is undergoing a major refurbishment with the support of Welsh Government, Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council and Arts Council of Wales.

The capital works will help to update a much-loved building. The plans will make all of the building fully accessible, welcoming everyone to use the facilities including the Shelley Hall, a new studio theatre, a creative arts studio, meeting rooms & café. It will also house a new children’s facility with a rooftop garden.

The completed building will be run by Artis Community on behalf of Pontypridd YMCA when it opens Mid 2021.

Following on from previous consultations, we will continue to create opportunities to discuss and share about how this facility can meet the needs and wishes of the community.

We will be delivering three virtual “Community Conversations” around the designs for the YMCA, it’s progress, plans and discussions over the future use of the building.

In the meantime we would like to invite you to fill in this survey.
