Blended Family Consultation

Hello and thanks for doing our survey!

This survey is all about something called 'blended families'. What is a Blended Family? A Blended family consists of two parents, where one or both have children from a previous relationship.

Were looking for blended families to take part in a consultation exercise to shape a new service we are launching around how surviving domestic abuse may impact new intimate partner relationships and the wider family dynamics.  Forming new relationships can be difficult due to the lifelong trauma experienced as a result of domestic abuse which may impact in the following ways:
  • Lack of trust
  • Heightened levels of anxiety
  • Shame - enjoying sex
  • Mood swings
  • Lack of interest in sex
  • Lack of interest in seeing friends and family
  • Anger - outbursts

The success of the project is based on gaining insight from your perspective as a survivor of abuse and your view of difficulties that you and your family may experience.  We would like to explore the challenges and opportunities this creates within new relationships.

If you're interested in taking part, we would be very grateful if you would fill out this survey for us.

Please try and be as honest as you can.  This survey is anonymous, which means that we won't ask you for your name and no one will know that you have written.  We will then use those answers to get a general idea of what issues your and your family have faced and what support may be useful to offer around this and to others.

If you have any questions about the survey, or if anything in it has made you feel worried, please don't keep it to yourself. We are here to help and if you'd like to chat to us further, please call us confidentially on 01623 683250 or dawn@nidas.org.uk we'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for your help!  :-)
