Welsh Government draft Budget 2023-24

The Finance Committee has launched its annual consultation into Welsh Government’s draft Budget for 2023-24. The aim of this consultation is to explore expectations of the upcoming Budget, and inform scrutiny of it.
For the first time, this consultation includes a direct question about support for the voluntary sector.
WCVA will be responding to this consultation. We hope to include as wide and diverse a range of voluntary sector voices as possible for inclusion in this response and so have launched a survey to gather the opinions of the sector.
This is an important opportunity for the voluntary sector to influence scrutiny of the upcoming Budget and the direction of future Budgets. Please complete the below survey. You do not have to answer every question – feel free to answer as many or as few as you please, although we would urge respondents to at least answer question 2 on voluntary sector support.
This survey will close on Friday 4 November 2022.
Please contact David Cook, WCVA Policy Officer, on dcook@wcva.cymru with any questions.
1.What was the impact of the Welsh Government budget for 2022-23?
2.Is there currently enough support for voluntary sector organisations?
3.How should the draft Budget address the Cost of Living crisis?
4.How should Welsh Government support the economy in 2022-23?
5.How financially prepared is your organisation for 2023-24?
6.How can Welsh Government invest to better support the goals of the Future Generations Act?
7.Are Welsh Government ambitious enough in their plans to build a greener economy?
8.Is enough investment being targeted at climate change and the nature emergency?
9.Is enough support being given to people living in income poverty?
10.Is enough resource being allocated to preventative spending? (Spending which focuses on preventing problems and eases future demand on services by intervening early.)
