Survey of Repository Aggregators

There is a growing number of national and regional repository aggregator networks that harvest metadata (and in some cases full text) from repositories and other data sources, and provide a number of services including tracking open access content, discovery of national research outputs, standardized usage statistics, and more. These aggregators often also act as important mechanisms to bring together the national community of repositories to help adopt good practice, define policies, and develop a shared vision for repositories. COAR and FECYT have launched a working group to support information exchange and shared problem solving for national and regional aggregators. The purpose of this survey is to identify base line practices of repository networks, and identify issues and challenges which can be addressed through this working group.

The short survey is open to all aggregators of scholarly research content from March 18 - April 10, 2020.

A summary of survey results will be shared at the end of April.

Cada vez más, existe un mayor número de redes de agregadores de repositorios nacionales y regionales que recolectan metadatos (y en algunos casos textos completos) de repositorios y otras fuentes de información, y brindan una serie de servicios que incluyen el seguimiento de contenidos de acceso abierto, el descubrimiento de los resultados de las investigaciones nacionales, el uso estandarizado de estadísticas, entre otros. Estos agregadores a menudo también actúan como mecanismos importantes para reunir a la comunidad nacional de repositorios para ayudar a adoptar buenas prácticas, definir políticas y desarrollar una visión compartida para los repositorios.
