1. Introduction

Early Years - the organisation for young children, on behalf of the Childcare Partnerships, would like to invite you to participate in this 2016/17 Early Years Workforce Development Survey.

The purpose of the survey is to:
  • Clarify the availability of childcare places and their location across Northern Ireland;
  • Profile the current qualifications held by early years practitioners;
  • Identify future training and qualification needs;
  • Inform and support the development of early years policy, including the Executive childcare strategy; and
  • Facilitate the development of a business case aimed at supporting sectoral need

It is therefore vitally important that all early years and childcare providers complete the questionnaire for their setting, and there is one response for each registered service/site, to ensure that the report provides as complete and accurate a picture of the sector as possible.

The questionnaire should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.  You may complete this questionnaire in one of two ways:

On-line via survey monkey (https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WFDS17)
OR
By completing this copy and returning to:
Early Years – the organisation for young children, 6c Wildflower Way, Belfast, BT12 6TA

All providers that respond will be included in a prize draw to win a selection of early years publications to the value of £50.

All the information collected is strictly confidential and will be used only for the purposes outlined above. All data will be held securely and when appropriate in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. All published statistics drawn from the data items will represent cumulative figures, and no information at individual participant level will be published in any associated report. Equality monitoring information will not be published or shared with other organisations other than in an anonymised form.

If you have any concerns or queries, please contact Early Years on 028 9066 2825 or noelm@early-years.org
