* 1. Title: Online victimisation cases

We are Dr. Ruth Hatcher and Bethany Campbell and we are researchers from the Department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour at the University of Leicester, UK.

Participation in this project will involve completing a number of questionnaires and reading a scenario involving an online victimisation case. The study should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The online victimisation case may contain details relating to sexual images or descriptions of sexual behaviour. These will only ever be descriptions, however; no images will be displayed to participants. The detail within the scenarios will not be any more explicit than what might be printed within a newspaper or discussed on news reports on television. If, for any reason, you will feel uncomfortable reading such information or you feel that reading or providing details about about online victimisation might be uncomfortable for you, however, you are advised not to take part in this research.

The questionnaires that you will be asked to complete will ask about how you view yourself, the world you live in and your own experiences of online victimisation. There are no right or wrong answers and you should answer as honestly as possible.
