On 13 July 2023, the UK Government announced that visa fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge will increase. Although we still do not know the exact implementation date for the Immigration Health Surcharge, on 15 September it was announced it would rise by 66% to £1,035 (or £776 for students). The Student visa was also announced to increase by 35% to £490, with priority services up 100% to £500, and super priority services up 5% to £1,000. These visa changes will come into effect on 4 October, with the funding going towards UKVI’s costs and Border Force.

UKCISA are aware that this may significantly impact many students that plan on continuing their studies in the UK or hoped to stay in the country after graduation in employment.

This questionnaire is for UKCISA to understand the impact on students and recent graduates that an increase in cost will have. We encourage any current or recent international student that studied in the UK to respond.
