Residential care during the coronavirus pandemic: Residents' experiences
About our survey:
Providers of residential care have had to respond to the challenges and impact of COVID-19 since March 2020.
Healthwatch Kingston is the local champion for health and social care services working with, but independently of, the NHS and Kingston Council.
Healthwatch Kingston (working in collaboration with Kingston Council) recognises this is a sensitive time for many and we would like to hear about the experiences of residents of Care Homes, Supported Living Homes and Extra Care Housing.
We will provide an independent, anonymised report of our findings to service providers and commissioners of residential care in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
Healthwatch Kingston acknowledges there may be variable quality of care between one provider and another due to different resources and equipment so we will not be reporting about specific providers.
Healthwatch Kingston is also interested in hearing from family members and friends of residents of Care Homes, Supported Living Homes and Extra Care Housing. If a family member or a friend would like to share their experiences with us, they can here.
If feedback to our survey suggests a safeguarding concern, Healthwatch Kingston will raise this with the Kingston Safeguarding Adults Team.
This and associated surveys (Family and Friends and Easy Read) are available online, or in print with a Free Post return label and can also be conducted by telephone if you would prefer. Call 020 3326 1255 and leave a message with your contact email/phone number, and one of the team will get back to you within 72 hours. Healthwatch Kingston is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
