Brought to you by Alresford Parish Council

Thank you to everyone that took the time to complete the Early Engagement Survey that was circulated last year. The answers you provided has helped gain a real understanding about what makes Alresford a good place to live, work and visit but also the things that pose challenges and could be improved.

A neighbourhood plan is a document produced at community level. It will contain local planning policies which will be used when any planning applications for the area are submitted (alongside national and local authority policies). It is a chance for Alresford Parish to be more involved in decision making around land use in the future but it is not a document that can prevent ALL future development. However, before we can start drawing up policies and a draft plan we need you to take the time to give us the detail to make sure we’ve understood and make a plan that will take us forwards.

* 1. Would you support a Neighbourhood Plan Policy that directed any future housing development to brownfield (previously developed) sites and infill sites within the settlement boundary?

* 2. Would you support the building of a warden controlled sheltered housing development for the elderly and those with mobility/other health issues?

* 3. What methods of transport do you and all working family members use for commuting to work?

* 4. Do you use a car for the school run?

* 5. Alresford is often promoted by developers as a commuter hub because it has a village railway station. Does the frequency and connectivity of the train service merit the commuter hub status being given to Alresford?

* 6. Do you use another station, such as Wivenhoe, due to the higher frequency of trains?

* 7. What is the frequency and purpose of your train travel?

* 8. What is the frequency and purpose of your bus travel?

* 9. Would you use a local bus service on the Main Road (B1027)?

* 10. If you don’t use the bus what stops you?

* 11. Do you have concerns about safety on the B1027?

* 12. Do you think that speed on the B1027 should be limited to 30mph where it passes through the village?

* 13. Will the B1027 adequately serve the village with all the new homes in Alresford and the Tendring District?

* 14. Do you have concerns with speeding in the village?

* 15. Is there a need for improvement of the Station Road/B1027 junction?

* 16. Would a cycle/footpath link between Brightlingsea and Wivenhoe (passing through Alresford via a bridge at the mouth of Alresford Creek) be a positive contribution to the areas infrastructure?
