Please contact the Volunteer Service Lead if you require any support

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the The Donna Louise. Our volunteers help us to make every moment count and make a real difference to the children and families who use our services.
All documentation relating to volunteers is treated with the same level of care and confidentiality as that for paid staff.

Volunteering in the Donna Louise usually requires that you are available at least twice a month (typically a 2-4 hour slot). We ask that volunteers consider their availability when interested in roles in the house. The process of becoming a volunteer can take anywhere between 2-6 weeks depending on the role. This process requires an investment of time, money and other resources from the Donna Louise. If you do not think you can maintain a commitment to The Donna Louise for at least 6 months we ask that you consider supporting our many events and shops.

I also understand that any volunteering role offered to me is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of this check will depend on the volunteer role you undertake. I believe I can regularly commit to a role in the hospice and undertake any required training of me.

I understand that by writing my name below this constitutes a legal signature confirming that the information contained in this application is true and complete.

So what happens next? We will invite you for an informal interview if we had a role that is suitable for you is available within the next couple of weeks.

Before hospice based volunteers start they require the completion of an enhanced DBS and two character reference checks. Online Safeguarding training must also be completed.

After this is done, you will be invited for a detailed role induction (including full house tour).Training is delivered depending on the role (usually two or three evenings or one full Saturday). This is usually completed within three months of starting.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We will contact you in the next couple of weeks to arrange to meet up and discuss opportunities in more detail.
