Welcome to the Mutton Experience Survey

Welcome to the Mutton Experiences survey, which only takes a few moments to complete, and concerns the meat of older sheep.

How do we define Quality Mutton? In some countries and cultures 'mutton' can mean goat meat. However here, we mean only meat from an older sheep (normally over two years old), a definition which is used in most Anglophone countries, including the UK, USA, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. 'Quality mutton' means animals which have been farmed specifically for the best mutton eating experience.

What is the purpose of the survey?
We want to understand more about the general public's experiences and attitude to mutton.

Who are we?
Bob Kennard is the leading expert on quality mutton in the UK, having sold it through his meat business for over 20 years, and having written the widely acclaimed book Much Ado About Mutton. He is also advisor to the UK's National Sheep Association on mutton production, and often speaks on the subject.

What will be done with the information you give us? We will use the annonymous information in guiding those involved in producing and selling quality mutton to offer a better quality eating experience, andf to better understand public attitudes to eating mutton.

Many thanks for your time and for sharing your views and experiences.
