Crawley Workforce Project- Small Grants Expression of Interest Form

Active Sussex are offering a small targeted small grants programme to develop the sport and physical activity workforce in Crawley, as part of the Crawley Workforce Project.

Active Sussex aims to improve people’s lives through sport and physical activity, with a specific focus on the inactive to active participant journey.

To support this journey, it is essential to provide a positive experience for the participant. Central to this experience is having the right person, with the right skills, in the right environment. Using a 'person like me' approach to workforce development, Active Sussex will be offering a small grants programme to Crawley partners towards qualifications or training for those looking to increase opportunities for those who are who are less likely to be active.

Funding should be used to develop and train recipients to address inactivity in the following priority groups:

•            Older people

•            People with disabilities

•            People with long term health conditions

•            People from Black or South Asian communities

•            People from lower socio-economic groups

•            Target groups with higher rates of inactivity

Grants are available for amounts between £100 and £600. Groups/clubs/organisations can apply for more than £600 if they have a particularly strong or innovative idea for the use of their grant.

The funding can be used towards obtaining qualifications or accessing training that can help encourage and support inactive people to be active. This can be for a coach, instructor, volunteer or participant.
