Consultation on infrastructure services to the voluntary and community sector

Rotherham Borough Council is recommissioning ‘infrastructure support’ provision for community and voluntary sector (VCS) groups in the borough.

‘Infrastructure support’ means services that help you with things like writing a constitution, developing your policies and procedures, recruiting volunteers and finding funding for your project. It can also support voice and influence work so they provide help with your role in local decision making, raising awareness of who you are and what you do and providing you with regular information on things that matter to you.

Rotherham Council has had a rapid improvement journey and we’ve also been dealing with budget challenges including the need to find savings of £42m over the next two years. However we still want to commission infrastructure services for the VCS as we feel this is vital to a strong, well-managed and connected VCS that can adapt to a changing world. We are keen to ensure we continue building strong collaborative relationships - and amongst those relationships, we value the contribution of the voluntary and community sector.

We want to hear your thoughts on critical issues for the sector and your priority support needs.
