Europeana Sounds was a three year, EC-funded project, led by the British Library's Sound and Vision department. The project, which involved 20 data providers from 12 European countries, aggregated over half a million audio and audio-related items onto Europeana.
Although the project ended in January 2017, Europeana Sounds continues to add and enrich metadata for Europeana; it is an active member of a growing community of national, domain and thematic aggregators spread across Europe.
We are now looking for more data providers to join us as associate partners and share their online audio and audio-related collections on Europeana.
So if you have an online collection that you would be interested in sharing on Europeana's multi-lingual search portal, we'd like to hear from you.
Your collection could comprise audio material of any subject area; or, it could comprise audio-related content such as photographs of musicians, sheet music, music manuscripts, etc.
We'd be able to help you to transform your metadata to European Data Model (EDM) files, providing you with training and support in mapping and exporting your metadata and also, providing advice on creative commons licensing.
