There is a significant and growing global opportunity to enhance the experience and value for plugin vehicle owners and energy system actors by intelligently linking vehicles and their energy storage capabilities to the electricity network.

This opportunity is both in domestic charging and public charging, through the increased partnership between the energy needs of a plugin user and the system management needs of system actors such as Distribution Network Operators and the System Operator.  By taking action now, we will be able to create future proof solutions and thinking while inertia to change is still at a relatively low level in the sector and the charge industry is in its infancy.

On May 11-12 the 2nd dedicated V2G conference will be held in Amsterdam (http://amsterdamv2gconference.eu) with participants active in projects and interested supply chain players from across northern Europe, totalling an anticipated 250 people.

As evidenced by a number of very well attended and engaging workshops on this subject in February, Innovate UK believes there is value to UK innovators in encouraging participation in the above event. It is therefore able to support 30 to 40 UK innovators to attend the event, covering the costs of the event fee and two nights hotel accommodation (the nights of the 10th and 11th only).

To maximise learning and networking engagement we are working with the event organisers to run a dedicated speed dating/networking session at the end of the first day. It is also possible there will additionally be a networking drinks reception hosted by the UK Foreign Office the evening of the 10th, though this is to be confirmed.

Parties interested in this support should register their expressions of interest using the form below, by 17:00 hours, Wednesday 5th April 2017.
