E-Collective Grievance
Please note that although we are using SurveyMonkey to collective signatures, this is not a survey, this is an e-Collective Grievance.
We, the undersigned, are well aware of the importance of our training and recertification requirements. This is not in dispute.
However, we are of the view that suitable and sufficient training facilities are already in place within Scotland, particularly at Leuchars and that there may be options to do training even more locally in the near future. Given the existence of these facilities we are of the strong opinion that proper consideration should be given to using these local facilities before requiring workers to travel hundreds of miles during a period of stringent lockdown measures associated with the pandemic.
In addition we believe that additional measures should be put in place to best support those who are either shielding or have caring responsibilities for someone who is shielding on health grounds. Each case should be considered on its own merits and through reasonable two-way dialogue before a decision is taken to ask any member of staff to travel across local authority boundaries, even within Scotland.
We ask that a meeting is convened with Unite representatives at the earliest possible opportunity to hear these concerns before requiring anyone to travel for training.
Thank you for taking the time to sign this e-grievance.
