A national system for electronic conspicuity

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed its commitment to ADS-B in/out on 1090 MHz as the national system for electronic conspicuity.

We are already working with the General Aviation (GA) community and equipment manufacturers to develop an integrated electronic surveillance solution for both air and ground use.

To help base these developments on GA pilot’s requirements we would welcome your responses to this short survey by Friday 29 September 2017.

* 1. What do you fly? If you regularly operate different types of aircraft please select one that you most commonly fly.

* 2. What conspicuity do you already carry?

* 3. Do you agree that full Electronic Conspicuity (EC) would be beneficial to GA safety in the UK?

* 4. What benefits would you expect to see from an EC environment? Please tick all that apply.

* 5. Given the existing constraints what would encourage you to use a CAP1391 (Low powered ADS-B) type device for conspicuity? Please tick all that apply.

* 6. In light of the requirements selected above, what would your expectation of cost be for a device that could meet the requirements specified?
