Calling all GPs interested in helping junior doctors at Musgrove Park Hospital improve the quality of discharge summaries!

Discharge summaries from MPH have improved over the last 6 years but there is still room for improvement around the quality of the narrative. Junior doctors are looking for guidance on “what good looks like” from a GP point of view.

To note: medication issues will be addressed in a separate project which will involve software that the trust is working on. We are aware that primary care staff are spending much time on resolving medication discrepancies currently.

A short survey has been designed to better understand what makes a good discharge summary and what is frustrating.

Your responses will be used to design a checklist or standard which we will then test and refine with junior doctors.
