Growing a vibrant, inclusive, worshipping community

We want to help each other to be active in our church and Christian lives - in ways which value the different gifts and skills each of us is blessed with. Some of this is about how our church community practically works and grows, and it is healthy to review this regularly.

How we offer our time and talents can vary over the years, depending on what God calls us to do, and our personal circumstances - it’s important that people don’t feel stuck with a ‘job for life’.

It may be that God is calling you to be involved in a particular way, or to step back from something, or there’s something you’d just like to have a go at (or your friends and family think you’d flourish at!)

If you’re unsure or not feeling confident about it, do chat with Rev Carol or one of the people who currently do that role to find out more.

The most important thing is being part of the congregation, as we pray, worship, serve, and care for each other and the parish around us!

If you’re not sure of what goes on behind the scenes (in no particular order):
Some of the roles which make our worship possible…
Sacristan, servers, sides team, welcomers, readers, intercessors, choir, musicians, typesetting and printing, communion assistants…

Some of the roles which help us reach out to the community:
Night Shelter volunteer, foodbank collection, leading school clubs, carol singing, delivering invitations and flyers, website design, social media, video recorders…

Some of the roles that make our church life possible:
Pray-ers, treasurer, DIY and gardeners, bakers and tea-makers, party starters, Office Hour welcomers, cleaners, counters, administrators, artists and decorators, planners, listeners, leafleting…
