How prepared are your clients and agencies for IR35?

At Aardvark Accounting, we’re keen to prepare for upcoming IR35 changes by understanding what kind of support you need and how prepared end clients are for the changes. We’re also engaging with agencies to ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities and that our sister company SG Umbrella appears on their approved supplier list. To this end, we would appreciate if you would answer our simple 4 question survey. It’ll only take a couple of minutes and your answers will be anonymous.

Question Title

* 1. How would you rate your understanding about HMRC's rules around off-payroll working (also known as 'IR35') and how these affect contractors working through a limited company?

Question Title

* 2. How confident are you that your agencies and end clients have the knowledge, capacity and resources to implement the rule changes?

If you need a quick brush-up on IR35: From April 2020, the rules around IR35 in the Private Sector will be bought in line with those for the Public Sector, with the end hirer making the IR35 determination across the board and bearing the tax risk if they get it wrong, rather than the contractor doing this. Our experience of the changes being implemented in the Public Sector suggest that some end hirers may take a risk averse stance, deeming a large proportion of contractors as inside IR35 as a result. This may result in some contractors needing to work on a PAYE basis and losing the tax benefits of working through a Limited Company

Question Title

* 3. Which agencies and clients are you currently working with or expect to be working with in the next 6 months? Please type one per line.

Question Title

* 4. What do you expect to happen to your contract post April 2021?

Question Title

* 5. If you're likely to need an Umbrella and would like us to get in touch to discuss this with you (use of our sister company SG Umbrella is included in your monthly fee), please add your details here.
