Information to help complete the process.
You are encouraged to consider selecting Geography or History AND a language. This will allow you to achieve the Ebacc if you perform well in each subject. It is not compulsory that you complete the Ebacc so please make the right choice for you .
If you would change your choices in other blocks, if you do not get first choice in a block, then please write your thoughts on this in the comments box below.
When selecting the science route please bear in mind that the triple route is more demanding in terms of content and pace and is suitable for pupils with good academic attainment in science and perhaps looking to continue to A level sciences. Combined science (2 GCSE) is the route that MOST pupils study nationally.
a) Pupils cannot choose both Art and Photography as first choices. These are both classed as ART GCSEs. We have included Art as a subject within the Photography block so that pupils can study an art subject (which can also include aspects of photography) if we have too many pupils selecting Photography.
b) Pupils can study any 2 of the subjects from Drama, Performing Arts and Music but not all 3 as there is too much overlap in content.
c) Pupils cannot study Food and Nutrition and Food and Cookery together.
