Information about the survey

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are a team of researchers based in the School of Education at Ulster University. We are undertaking an online survey of parents of secondary school children across Scotland. Our aim is to get an understanding of parents’ views and experiences of supporting their child / children’s education at home during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

This short survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. It is completely anonymous. We will not be asking you to identify yourselves, your child(ren) or your children's school in the survey.  We are interested in gaining an overall perspective from parents / guardians about your current experiences. Your participation is voluntary, you do not have to take part, or provide any reason should you not wish to take part.

We do however hope that you will participate as we are keen to hear about your experiences as this will provide valuable insights for those working in education across Scotland.  Findings from the survey may be published.

The survey is online and if you are willing to provide your responses, we will need you to tick the consent question at the start of the survey. Parents can withdraw from completing the survey at any stage up to clicking Done at the end. The only compulsory question to be completed is the initial consent question.

If you have any questions about the survey or would like anything explained you are welcome to contact one of the members of the research team below.

Thank you.
