The SSSC, our regulatory body in Scotland, has launched a consultation on its fees which will close on 2 November.  There has been no increase in the SSSC fees since its inception in 2003, and the reasons for the proposed increase are explained within the narrative which introduces the consultation. For registered social workers the suggestion is a rise in annual fees from £30 to £80 per year, after tax relief £64, so just over 100% more.  Please go to http://www.sssc.uk.com/consultations/consultations/current-consultations/consultation-on-the-scottish-social-services-council-registration-fees for further details.

We have already been contacted by members with comments they wish us to convey as the professional body representing social workers. SASW is keen to represent our members’ views as best as possible, and in order to do so we are asking you to take part in a very brief questionnaire on survey monkey. We have tried to keep it brief, and the survey will take no more than 10 minutes of your time.
