Introduction

On 12 September the Department for Education released a new Green Paper entitled "Schools That Work For Everyone". This contains a range of proposals with the aim of creating "an education system that extends opportunity to everyone, not just the privileged few".

These proposals would fundamentally reshape the education landscape in the North East. The plan to lift the ban on new and expanding grammar schools has attracted most attention, but the proposals relating to the role of faith schools, independent schools and universities in state education will also have major implications.

Given the impact that these proposals would have, SCHOOLS NorthEast will be submitting a response to this consultation on behalf of schools across the region.

To do this effectively we need to hear from you, so we would really appreciate you taking the time to fill out the following survey. Your responses and comments will help to ensure that we produce a strong and representative response to this consultation.
