Question Title

* 1. The Dornoch Area Community Interest Company (DACIC) published its plans in April this year for Project Curlew, a new community-owned building next to the UHI student accommodation in Shore Road.

Since then DACIC has also investigated potential uses of the Police Station and moved the planned gym & fitness centre there – so if both buildings go ahead there is now an opportunity to include a new community hall within the Project Curlew building instead of the gym originally planned. This is a suggestion from the Community Association who own the Social Club – so that between the two buildings their long-held aspirations for a new community centre will be met and the Social Club could be sold.

DACIC will shortly make an application to the Scottish Land Fund for a grant to buy the land required and, to support this, we want to seek the views of the community on the planned uses of Project Curlew. In combination, the two projects are aimed at developing facilities for the local community and visitors to Dornoch.

What facilities do Dornoch and the local area lack?
