Introduction 

Creative Skills in early Childhood Practice is a bespoke, SCQF level 7, 24-credit qualification developed by Starcatchers in partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College.

 
If you have completed, or are on course to complete Starcatchers’ Creative Skills Training, those hours can count towards gaining this SQA recognised qualification.

 
For 2018 only, the fee to take part in this qualification has been reduced from £500 to £100. Only participants who have previously completed, or are on course to complete, Starcatchers' Creative Skills Programme, can apply to sit the qualification in 2018. Please note this fee is non-refundable, should you wish to not go ahead with the course. 


What’s involved?

-       Writing ten, 300-word reflective journal entries showing how you have adapted and applied expressive arts and creativity skills from the practical training into your practice
-        Submitting a 2000-word essay
-       Attending three days of training in Glasgow, 10am-5pm:

Child Development Theorists & Creativity

Creativity & Early Years Legislation

Mock exam for practical exam

Sat 10th November    
Creativity and Play

Practical exam

A final, 2000-word essay focusing on Early Years creativity will be due in Mid August (exact date to be confirmed).
