Introduction

6% of survey complete.
This survey will help us build a picture of the current state of children’s rights in Scotland. The State of Children’s Rights webinar series forms part of Together’s countdown to the next examination of the UK’s progress in implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Webinar findings and survey responses will be used to help shape a report by Together which highlights the priority children’s rights issues in Scotland and inform the UN Committee’s review.

Recommendations by the UN Committee can be powerful tools in influencing legislation and policy. Since the UN Committee’s 2016 review, the Scottish Government has addressed recommendations including giving children equal protection from assault and raising the age of criminal responsibility, as well as making a strong commitment to incorporate the UNCRC into Scots law within the next year.

Any supporting evidence you may have, such as briefing papers, should be sent to info@togetherscotland.org.uk.
