Criminal records
This is area where people have more divergent views.
  • The law's view is that when someone has completed their sentence it is viewed  as a spent conviction.
  • Crime is complicated issue, especially in low income areas. Poor housing is one of the causes of criminal activity. Some see that excluding all those with criminal records is discriminating against people from more deprived circumstances.
Size of homes
The homes will be allocated according to the tenant's need at the time of their application. Over time some tenants may no longer require the larger units, for example if their children have grown up and moved out. Other tenants may require a larger unit as their household grows.
