Consultation Period

Govan Housing Association Rent Review Consultation

Consultation Period:  Friday 31st January to Sunday 1st March 2020

Our Management Committee will be required to review our annual rent increase and will look at balancing the need to keep rents affordable for you, while continuing to cover the costs of running services and making sure our homes and communities remain vibrant places to live.

Our rents continue to be some of the lowest in the sector and we believe that to deliver future obligations, we need to look at a modern rent review which is linked to affordability. As a result, this year we are carrying out a consultation with tenants which will focus on a review of our current rent system.

Our ‘Tenant Consultation – Rent Review Guide’ can be found online at: https://www.govanha.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Rent-Review-Consultation-Pack-2020-21.pdf
This guide outlines full details of our proposals, the principles behind our rent structure, an outline of how rents will be  proposed and also some worked examples for illustrative purposes.

The proposals outlined on the annual rent review will still see our rents compare favourably to other landlords, be affordable to the majority of tenants and will improve longer term financial planning to supporting the continuing investment in housing which we believe is important to our tenants and the wider community.
