The Stained Glass Museum has received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for a two-year project entitled ‘Windows onto the Future: investigating options for an accessible and resilient Stained Glass Museum’. See here for the press release:

This project will investigate options and produce a masterplan for the museum’s future development. The strategic masterplan is being developed with the assistance of our appointed masterplan consultants, MetaValue, and in consultation with various stakeholders. It aims to address three main needs:

  • improve access to the museum, its collections and associated learning and events programme, and reach wider audiences;
  • provide adequate and more suitable space for learning, and the display and storage of the museum's internationally-significant collections in a controlled environment;
  • improve visitor and staff facilities.
We would like you to have a say on our emerging vision, set out in our Prospectus The Stained Glass Museum: Developing a national centre for the discovery, appreciation and preservation of stained glass, and invite you to complete this short survey. Your views our important to us.

The information you provide will be processed securely and used only for the purpose of internal research to inform the masterplan. We will share this internally only with the SGM Windows onto the Future Project Members and Board of Trustees, and may attribute feedback to your name and organisation. If you would prefer that your feedback is completely anonymised, please indicate at the end of the survey.

Please feel free to skip through questions you do not feel well placed to answer. If you would prefer to send your feedback directly to the masterplan consultants, please email:

We would be grateful if you could send us your feedback by 22 November 2018.
