Fishbourne Under Threat - Save Our Neighbourhood Plan!

CAN YOU SPARE TEN MINUTES TO HELP SAVE FISHBOURNE?

That’s all the time it takes to fill in this survey – and we need as many responses as possible to help Save Our Village.

This will be our evidence when we come to argue why, despite the call for yet more housing by H.M. Government, Fishbourne should be regarded as a special case because of its enormous contribution over the years to reaching CDC building targets.

The fight is on – and filling in this survey is the first skirmish!

Introduction

Fishbourne needs to review its Neighbourhood Plan (2014-2019) as a result of the new housing targets set for the Chichester District Council in their revised Local Plan.

In our Neighbourhood Plan 2014-2029, we were given an allocation of 50 new houses which we have already met. Because we have contributed so much over the past 40 or so years to the District’ Council’s building targets (for example, our population has increased by 30% since 2001) we now have very little space left which would be appropriate for further building.
Nevertheless, we will be expected to do all we can to help the District meet their new targets– and, to start with that means a survey of all the sites on which developers have said they would like to build to see which are appropriate for development.

To help us make sure that we arguing for what you want, we would be grateful if you would complete and return this survey. Your responses will show us:

· What you like
· What you want to see in the future
· What you do NOT want to see in the future
The questionnaire has been developed from the Village Survey which formed the basis of our existing Neighbourhood Plan, inputs from our Neighbourhood Plan Review Group with members representing groups and societies across the village, and discussions at meetings of the Parish Council and of the annual parish meetings. The questionnaire also reflects the changes in the new National Planning Policy Framework.

By filling in this questionnaire you will be helping us prepare a revised Neighbourhood Plan which truly reflects the views of the residents of Fishbourne.
