Survey of fatigue amongst paediatric intensive care trainees
As critical care providers, we are required to work shifts during antisocial hours. Often, the rest facilities available to us are very limited. Fatigue, stress and ill health are inevitable outcomes of lack of proper rest during and after such shifts. Sadly, within recent times, an anaesthetic trainee in England died when driving home from a night shift. The Paediatric Intensive Care Society (PICS) are very keen to find out from trainees what the impact of fatigue has upon their work and lives. The hope is that we can enable positive change towards the improvement of rest facilities both during and after shifts, improving the safety and well being of PIC trainees in the UK. We would be most grateful if you would spend a few minutes filling in this important survey.
