About this form
Filling out this form will generate your Reading Schools Action Plan, detailing the actions you will take in order to achieve your school’s accreditation. Before filling it out, we recommend the following:
- Use our self-evaluation document to complete an audit of where you currently are in terms of your reading culture and decide which level of accreditation you’d like to aim for; you will be required to select either Reading School, Reading School: Silver, or Reading School: Gold at the beginning of this form.
- Use the Reading Schools Framework to highlight actions you’d like to complete in order to meet the criteria within your chosen level or note down your own ideas in discussion with your Reading Leadership Group.
Completing your Action Plan should take around 30 minutes and the form will automatically save the pages you have completed as long as you consistently use the same device and browser; we recommend using Firefox or Chrome.
This form will take you through all of the Key Areas we consider crucial to building and sustaining a whole-school reading culture and detail the criteria necessary to achieve your chosen level. Within some of the Key Areas we will simply ask you to confirm that you will meet the stated criteria (marked mandatory) and for others we will ask you to tell us how you will meet the criterion by either selecting an action from our list or inputting your own in the box marked ‘other’. Please note that only one action is required to meet each criteria but you are welcome to select up to three if you choose.
