About the work

Health Education England (HEE) has tasked all AHP professional bodies to deliver a wide-ranging programme of work to support a 21st century workforce over the next year.

The RCSLT has been planning how best to deliver this work over the last few months, and with a small team in place, is now starting to deliver this exciting work. Although England-funded, we aim to make the work as UK-wide as possible.

You can read more about the background to the work and meet the team on our website.

The work consists of several different work streams and there's something for every member of the RCSLT to get involved in.

Register your interest to receive updates about the different work streams using this form.

We will be working on the following work streams:
  • Career and capabilities framework
  • Practice placement expansion
  • Preceptorships
  • Return to practice
  • International recruitment
  • Support workers
  • SLT role in primary care
  • SLT neonatal workforce
  • SLT children and young people’s workforce in education
  • Advanced practice
  • Clinical academia
  • SLT role in mental health
  • SLT role and new ways of working in learning disabilities
  • SLT role in autism and diagnostics

We will be asking you about your contact details, which Hub you belong to and, for each of the work streams listed above, whether you would like to
  • Get more information and progress updates about a work stream
  • Receive invitations to get involved in project work of a work stream
This will help us ensure that you only get the information you have asked for.

If you change your mind about your choices, you can either retake this survey or contact us using the contact information below.
