1. Welcome to our Survey

Ambition North Wales is exploring the possibility of establishing a NEW FUNDING SUPPORT SCHEME to support projects that contribute towards decarbonising the energy system in North Wales.  As part of the North Wales Growth Deal, the potential support would provide capital funding to support clean energy projects.

By completing this survey, you will influence the potential support scheme that could suit your project’s needs.

Who is this survey for?
Organisations in North Wales (private, public and third sector) that will require capital investment for upcoming clean energy projects. We are interested in projects that are at the concept stage through to ones that are ready to go!  We are especially interested in the projects that have the potential to benefit the economy in North Wales by creating local jobs and include a strong element of local ownership.

What is the purpose of this survey?
The information will help us validate the need for funding support and the optimal structure to best support regional projects.  This survey will help us offer the most appropriate support to North Wales organisations with their clean energy and decarbonisation ambitions that can benefit the wider society.

What will the funding support be for?
We are conducting this survey to identify the need for the support in North Wales.  Currently, we are not targeting any particular investment themes, but projects should align with the four themes identified in the North Wales Energy Strategy:

  1. Domestic Energy
  2. Commercial & Industrial Energy
  3. Road Transport
  4. Renewable Energy Generation

Similarly, we are not currently targeting any particular groups of project sponsors from the private, public, community and voluntary sectors.

What if my project is still an idea/concept?
We are aware that not all project ideas will have the level of detail we are asking for, but if this is the case - please provide as much information as you can about the project idea you have.

Please note we will not be formally assessing the information provided, and nothing given or provided at this stage will be evaluated as part of any future application process.  Responses to this survey will help to inform the design of the potential funding support scheme, both in terms of themes and target groups where the need and potential benefits are greatest.  Responding to this survey is not an application for funding nor a commitment to apply for funding if and when a support scheme is established.
