Study Information

The ‘Supporting Service Children in Schools’ project has been funded by the SCiP Alliance through the National Collaborative Outreach Program.  This research will examine the experiences of service pupils in schools and ways in which schools can support this group of students.  The research will eventually produce an improvement framework which will help schools examine what support it offers and what it can do to increase support.

The project is being conducted by researchers from the International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) which is a specialist research centre based in the University of Derby.

The project will involve a range of people involved in this subject including School Senior Leadership Teams, teachers, students and representative groups supporting service families.  Information will be gained from people through surveys, focus groups and interviews – however no-one is expected to participate in more than one form of information gathering.
