Demos is a charity based in London that conducts research with the aim of influencing the Government.

We're working with the Good Faith Partnership to conduct a piece of research exploring church social action. We are particularly interested in exploring partnership working between churches and non-Christian organisations (including businesses, other faith groups, charities, local authorities, schools and other public sector organisations) for social purpose.

We are surveying church congregations of all denominations to understand how these partnerships are formed, for what reasons, their successes and their challenges. Partnership working could involve organisations such as Local Government commissioning churches to provide services, churches co-running projects with other faith groups/secular NGOs, or churches running projects that rely on close collaboration with statutory services like the police, JobCentres etc. Sometimes these partnerships might be mediated or brokered by a larger organisation/network (e.g. Church Urban Fund, Caritas, Cinnamon Network etc), but sometimes they are formed directly between individual congregations and the non-Christian partner(s). We are equally interested in both approaches.

Please complete this survey if you are a representative of a church which runs a program or activity for social purpose in partnership with non-Christian organisations.

Please do not fill in this survey if you are a church network or broker organisation, i.e. an organisation that mediates between individual congregations and non-Christian organisations – we are gathering evidence from these organisations separately.

This survey should take around 10 minutes to complete. Your responses will be kept confidential and reported anonymously.
