Our names are Saoirse Jeffers and Sarah Wallace and we have recently been appointed as the new Student Representatives for Northern Ireland on CIPFA’s Student Network.

The CIPFA Student Network is made up of representatives from different regions around the UK, as well as a European representative for international students. Through regular communication and meetings we convey important issues and opinions from our fellow regional students at a national level and to the highest levels of CIPFA. More information on the work of the CIPFA Student Network is available at http://www.cipfa.org/members/student-network.

The aim of this survey is to capture our fellow students’ views on how well you are supported and represented both here in NI and at the national CIPFA level. We are also very keen to hear any of your suggestions on how we can improve the support that NI students receive.

At the moment we feel that there is a lack of effective student representation here in NI and as your new student representatives we would like to change this. We are suggesting that a Northern Ireland Student Society be set up, to provide increased support at a local level for all CIPFA students in NI. The work of this society could also be promoted and supported through social media outlets e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin. We have therefore set this survey up to capture your views on these proposals and to gage whether there is sufficient support and demand for these services to be in place.

The survey should only take about 5 minutes to complete and, unless you waive your right to anonymity, your response is completely confidential.

If you have any queries about the survey or would like to discuss your CIPFA student experience with us, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at NIstudents@cipfa.org and we will be happy to help!
