We are driven by our social purpose: to help more women secure board positions. Although we need to charge for our services to cover our costs, we are committed to being as inclusive as possible.

We have therefore decided to award four bursaries per year. The bursary will include:

1. An invitation to an Information Evening
2. A ticket to two Boardroom Insight events of the person's choice*
3. A place at one Getting Started workshop of the person's choice*
4. Our full subscriber benefits, including our 1-on-1 support and access to our Vacancy Board
5. One Getting Started Plus session with Fiona Hathorn
* subject to availability and webinar alternatives will be offered if the person is not able to attend one of our regional centres or London.

Eligibility/ application criteria

Our bursaries are open to women who are not on a board or committee currently - but would like to be.

You should be able to show that your annual salary is below £30,000 pa or you have been out of work for more than 12 months.

You should not have been awarded a bursary from Women on Boards in the past.

Application closing date:
31st March 2019. Bursaries will be announced by 30th April 2019.

Selection criteria:
We will award bursaries to the applicants we think:
- will benefit most from our support
- shows enthusiasm for gaining the skills and confidence to apply for a board position
- have a real need of our support
Selection is at the discretion of the selection panel and we are unable to give feedback on unsuccessful applications.

Terms of the bursary:

Women on Boards will not cover travel costs to London (or regional centres) but will offer webinar alternatives.
Successful applicants will need to make use of the bursary benefits within a year of award (i.e. by April 2020).
Successful applicants agree to participate in publicity surrounding the bursary scheme, although this can be done anonymously if preferred.
