The word marine means 'relating to or found in the sea'. This includes the seabed, creatures that live there and creatures that rely on the sea for food. It also includes shipwrecks and stories from the past, human exploration of the sea, the science behind what we know and what we still have to discover, plus human industries based in the sea such as fishing, energy, tourism or aquaculture.
