Plough Ahead Community Questionnaire - Please let us know what you think
What would it mean if the Plough became a Community Owned Pub?
A viable business run for the benefit of all of our community. At the core of a community pub are the local people that it serves; the purpose of having a community pub is to provide a range of services much wider than just the provision of food and drinks to the local community.
There are now approaching 100 Community Owned Pubs around the country, many of them in rural communities much smaller than Longparish. The majority of these pubs were once seen as unviable and were struggling to survive. However, once taken under community ownership not one community owned pub has closed and many of them have gone on to win awards.
Owned by, and accountable to, our local community. Most importantly, everyone in our community will have the opportunity to become a shareholder in the Plough Inn; and whatever the size of their investment each shareholder will have an equal say in the way the services offered by the Plough Inn are shaped and delivered.
