Privacy Notice

The information you provide in this survey will be used:

By the University of Manchester Students’ Union Research & Insight Team.
To produce reports which will be shared with the Students' Union, University of Manchester, the Students' Union website (if applicable), and any relevant third party to help develop and plan services for the future.
For analysing data, your content may be used on different analytical softwares to generate themes and reports which are shared with the Students' Union, University of Manchester or any other third party.
In line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
If applicable: We collect your student number in order to understand survey results according to various student demographics including gender, nationality, level of study, mode of study, study type, ethnicity, faculty and school. The student number also helps us verify that responses have come from genuine current University of Manchester students.
If applicable: In the event that we ask for your name and contact information, the reason will be provided prior to when you can submit this information. Generally, we collect your name and contact information to contact you in the future for invitations to further research events or to continue further correspondence based on the reason mentioned in the survey. Your contact information will not be used to identify your responses within the survey and will solely be used to contact you based on the reason provided in the survey.
The data will not be used for any purpose other than those stated above.
All information provided will be anonymised and the collection of the student ID will not be used to identify individual respondents.
The data is stored securely on a drive that is only accessible to the UMSU research and insight team. Individual-level data will not be shared with others.
We will take measures to ensure that the data collected is used in a responsible and transparent manner as described above. We are conscious that personal identifiable information could inadvertently be provided in responses and we ask that you refrain from including information in free-form responses which may make yourself or other individuals identifiable. Personal identifiable information provided in survey responses will be deleted to ensure GDPR compliance. As answers are provided anonymously it will unfortunately not be possible to delete specific responses after they have been submitted.
