Every year, we are required to consult on the post-16 travel policy by law. The final policy then must be published by 31 May, ready for the start of the new academic year in September 2018.

It is important to note that we are currently consulting on proposals to change school and post-16 travel policies from September 2019. To have your say on policies for 2019 visit: www.suffolk.gov.uk/schooltravel

Consultation proposal for the post-16 travel policy 2018/19

Using feedback from families, young people, and other users, we have updated the post-16 travel policy for 2018/2019 so it provides greater clarity in terms of:

1.    Readability for young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (taking into account the updated statutory guidance published by the Department for Education in October 2017).

2.    Section 4 - exceptional and extenuating circumstances.

You can read the policy at: www.suffolk.gov.uk/assets/council-and-democracy/consultations-petitions-and-elections/Draft-2018-2019-Post-16-Travel-Policy.pdf
