Raised levels of air pollution including particulate matter are known to adversely affect childhood illness, and cause long term lung and heart disease in adults.
LIBERAL DEMOCRATS believe that the council is not taking effective action to protect your environment and wellbeing.
LIBERAL DEMOCRATS have a multi-point local plan to improve your quality of life and health.
1.Has your health, or that of a family member has been affected by poor air quality?   (Chronic chest and cardiac disease)
2.Did YOU notice the improvement in air quality during the first coronavirus lockdown?  (International and national figures for air pollution improved dramatically in early 2020).
3.Did your physical health improve during the first lockdown?
4.Hastings Liberal Democrats have developed policies to improve the local environment. Do you feel that spending on these improvements is a good use of resources?
5.Hastings Borough Council environmental monitoring is effective.
6.Would you like to see nitrous oxide, sulphur dioxide and particulate matter monitored in your ward?
