Watch and Learn – learning about local wildlife using ‘home-made’ camera traps |
We want to give school children aged 8-11 years the tools to make and set up ‘home-made’ camera traps to observe and monitor wildlife on their school grounds, engaging them with the wildlife on their doorstep. This will connect them with nature they might otherwise overlook and allow them to explore basic ecological concepts.
We hope to acquire funding in order to supply at least 10 schools with these camera traps to help undertake the study and use these camera traps in their school grounds and lessons. The schools would then be able to keep the camera traps.
