CIPR Construction and Property Special Interest Group Survey

This survey is being carried out by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Construction and Property Special Interest Group (CAPSIG).

Building on CIPR’s recent work on PR and pay equality, and the many studies looking at women in construction and property, we wish to explore the issues for women working in construction and property PR and marketing. Do you have similar or different experiences to women in the wider construction industry? And how do your experiences compare with the PR industry as a whole? Are there additional challenges for women in construction and property PR, given the complex challenges the sector already has regarding gender diversity.

We wish to hear from women working in all built environment related PR and marketing roles – including corporate communications, community and stakeholder engagement, public affairs, marketing communications, and marketing. The survey is relevant to women doing these roles in any sector of the built environment including: architecture and design; construction; construction products and materials; facilities management; house building; infrastructure; planning; property or estate management; and agencies / consultancies serving clients in these sectors.

The survey should only be completed by individuals classifying themselves as female.

This survey is completely anonymous and confidential. CAPSIG will analyse the results and publish a report in the Spring. The report will be launched at an industry event, which will be widely publicised through CAPSIG and other networks.

We’re also looking for volunteers to take part in telephone interviews to investigate some of the issues in more depth. Again, results will be completely anonymised.
