SLA Europe, BIALL and CLSIG run a joint Graduate and New Professionals Open Day aimed at LIS students and early career professionals.  This usually consists of a one day event with a variety of speakers from different sectors of the profession - legal, commercial, corporate and scientific.  The event usually includes library tours and is normally run in early April.  We are looking to review and refresh this event for 2019 and would like to gather some suggestions and feedback from LIS students and new information professionals.

SLA Europe is a thriving network of information professionals: individuals and organisations across Europe come together to benefit from each others’ knowledge and experience. SLA Europe is a chapter of SLA, the Special Libraries Association.

The Commercial, Legal & Scientific Information Group (CLSIG) is the CILIP special interest group which supports and promotes the professional interests of members in commercial, legal and scientific workplace libraries and information services. CLSIG also continue to support information professionals specialising in patent and trade mark information following the 2018 merger with the Patent and Trade Mark Group (PATMG).

BIALL leads the way in legal information providing opportunities for members to exchange information and share best practice, enhance their knowledge of legal information management, and promote the value of law libraries and the legal information profession. Our members include law librarians, information professionals and knowledge management professionals from a variety of institutions.
