Recovery after Trauma
Recovery after Trauma
Leeds Cares (a charity dedicated to exceptional healthcare and official partner charity to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) is working in partnership with the West Yorkshire Major Trauma Network to explore establishing a residential programme for major trauma patients to support their on-going recovery.
We are aware of a residential programme used with wounded and injured military personnel and the positive outcomes experienced by individuals who have taken part in this programme. The recovery programme involves adaptive outdoor activities and personal coaching and development to empower you to make positive changes in your day to day life. We believe there is potentially an opportunity to offer something similar to those affected by major trauma with equally positive outcomes.
As part of the potential project scoping and planning we are keen to gather your opinions on our idea.
You do no need to provide your name and address although we are interested in knowing your age and the nature of your trauma as this will help us to identify the demographic most/least interested in this type of programme and factors we need to consider when designing the programme.
If you wish to register your interest and/or help with the development of the programme please email dayone@leeds-cares.org.
